You must state, before you start raiding with your new main, that the character that used to be your new main is now your alt, etc. I am not sure yet, but there could possibly a limit on the amount of points transferred, or I might make a rule where you take a couple off just so that people don't switch mains too much.
And no, your guild points do not stand for both your alts or mains, to a point. Say an item drops, and 5 alts want it, they cannot bid for it if a single main wants it. Mains before alts.

I get what you're saying. When I said the points can be used on the character the player is playing, I ment if they switch mains, do the points stay with the player, not the character. I am sure there shall much discussion on this before a decision is made however, so yeah. Thanks! =D

Personally I think they should remain with a player, but people who tend to switch mains every other raid could be discouraged from doing so somehow, or not.

The only reason I bring it up, as I've said, is just that I myself will be re-rolling Ikky Monk. I have a feeling that there will be much discussion on this topic between officers and leader after those people have been selected.

Heres whats going down everyone buy right of Halaa now owes me 11 bilionty DKP. I also know Kung Fu and like the color Light Urple again 10 bonus points to who guess, what star I am and where this appeared... I.E. bonus points come in form of an ultra rare common Item from the Launch of Eq Classic...... now on to the seriousness
Like Mac has said with the looting system, this works it ensures that those who need on their mains have the shot at it. Also alts will have ample opurtuntiy for items... No to address concerns I have about main switching and such Lets Say person a is a Human Warrior and B is an enchanter and after 7 raids the warrior get the uber ultimate sword of the thunder cats, then three months later and x of amount of raids later he is now a new main lets say an Ikky Necro, now lets say his first raid into his max level the new main sees the same Ultra Staff of the White Wizard Pwness drop that the enchanter has wanted and waited for to drop for 22 raids I hesatate and thats just me because I am not Mac and he is not me to the let the Ikky Necro transfer over all his points to outbid that chanter his first raid, because then in theory guild drama ensues because the chanter feels a since of entitlement and has felt jipped becuase the warrior/necro already got the thundercat sword. As all the drama breaks loose I and Mac afre forced to whip out our Ultimate Tickle sticks and laugh everyone into submission.......
I think the Idea of a full points switch might lead people to begin Drama which is not what mac and us others are looking for I think we shoudl come with a formula like take all the points devide them by a gnome times them by the time it takes for an Ikky to gestate and then add 3 the all encompassing number..... just joking about the formula... I just have been in a lot of guild for many mmo's and seen needless dramn ensue out of a sick need of entitlement.

Haha, had a tough time reading your post but once I figured it out it was pretty funny. ;D
I am not going to put priorities on anything, I am not going to make any exceptions, whoever has the highest bid, gets the item. This is great because it is another way of saying whoever contributes most, gets the most. If some guy has gone on every raid for the past 2 months, and has 50 points, and a sword drops, he wins the big with 24 points. He gets the sword. Next raid an even better sword drops, he has the right to win that item, it's his points, and he wins with how much he contributes. Now, would it be very smart of him to spend ALL his DKP points on winning two swords where one is going to be useless? No. Will I maybe ask him if he is realizing what he is doing? Yes. But nobody can stop him and that's fair. As long as the person can use it and it's an upgrade.

I found a thread on the eqc site about fun guild events held, and reminded me of stuff that a guild I was in on the Combine would do when it opened up. At the beginning, no one really raided, except for Realm of Insanity and one other guild. The guild I was in was going to take it slow, but thought of an idea, kind of a reward, for coming to these events.
The events were mostly silly stuff. Naked human races from Qeynos to FP, or vice versa, capture the flag, where basically, members of the guild would meet up in a zone. Let's say EC. They'd group up into however many groups. Each group would pick a person to be their "flag". The flag would go hide anywhere in the zone, anything goes. Then after 5 minutes or when everyone was ready, they'd set off. Typical rules. Funny thing was the flag sometimes would invis and run off, and 3/5 left in the group would stand in a circle around some object and make it look like their flag was there.
Just quirky stuff like that. But everyone who came got 1 DKP. Just a little reward for showing up, plus, once we started raiding, we'd have points to spend so we could go with it the get go.
Just something I thought I should share! Would be a good way to get us out there, maybe known a little. Plus it's just fun, and an easy way to get/save up DKP in the beginning. =)
