Hey everyone! I just found out about EQClassic.org one week ago and I am really interested! I used to play EQ up until Luclin came out and 4 friends of mine and myself have been saying for the past several years that we would love to play classic EQ again. Now that we all know about this, we are really excited for the release, whenever that might be.
I have some questions though.
1. When will I be able to register on the EQClassic.org forums? (been disabled for a while as far as I know)
2. How many people are usually online at a time right now in the alpha testing?
3. Is it still possible to get in on the alpha testing?
These are things I would ask on the forums, but I can't unfortunately. Please get back to me when you get a chance.

1. None of us know, but the moderators open up registering occasionally now for set period of time before closing it again so just look on the website for updates.
2. As far as I know there are 10 alpha beta testers, so not a lot. I think you are confusing alpha beta with open beta testing. That is where you want to pay attention to the numbers.
3. Alpha testing applications are no longer being accepted.

The devs are pretty quiet about saying when anything will be ready, but then again they are quick to notify when they've made advances. Best thing to do is be patient and lurk around on the website and forums.

This may sound a bit discouraging, but if you're anxious to actually play, I discourage trying to get into the Alpha. During Alpha testing, users will have little to no time to play as they want, and rather will be scouring the world for glitches and errors. It's a very draining process in many games, and more often than not the Alpha testers get so burnt out that the company either has to cycle new people in, or pay the people they have.
In short, if you want to play it, wait at least for the open beta.

I'm totally down to play alpha. Whatever they need in order to get this thing up an running asap. I know that will be a long way away though.
I'll keep checking for beta tests. Anyone have an idea of how many people will be playing the final product. If they got ONE server with 1500 people on it at peak hours, I would be soooooo happy!

I dunno when beta is going to be. But my optimistic guess is three months from now (this coming from a pessimistic person). ;D

I'd guess that it will be fully up and running six months to a year from now, but I think 1500 at peak hours is definitely a realistic expectation.
