Will we ever try and take on the three original raid mobs of classic, meaning Vox, Nagafen, and Phinny or are we just gunna wait till kunark for all waiting, cause im pretty sure we can do those three before kunark.

I'm certain we'll at least be doing Vox and Nagafen. Have you seen how many paladins we have?! =P

We will do all three probably, but not before the Kunark expansion comes out. Like I said, we will mostly be a family guild before Kunark, I need to get things organized and I am sure most of us want to take our time leveling and remembering how things were back then.

Not to mention, I think there are a few of us that are gonna need to figure out what was good back then, and step back and realize there are no +gazillion anything items. =/ And figure out what their class does too.

I know what my class does! I throw big burny things and freezy things and taxi. Easy. =P

I agree, being a classic server, the "totally uber haste sword of doom with incredible stat bonuses" is not likely to be in there. Say hello to rusty daggers again.

Yeah, I really don't want us to be a rushed guild at all. I'm glad the leader has that in mind, because I don't want us to turn into greedy jerks for loot and content that we've already seen before, lol.
I hope EQC doesn't release the 2 expansions too quickly. I'd like it if they get released one year apart each like they originally were.

Fighting dragons in banded and broze, man, that was where it was at! I'm going to giggle uncontrollably at these raid guilds who think they're going to be able to set up ALL their members in the best armour and raid by themselves - the best armour wasn't that great - I imagine we'd need nearly the entire server to be able to take down dragons, it won't just one guild to do so, guilds won't have nearly enough members for that, but I don't think anyone has really realised that yet.
Having a game from "back in the day" is one thing. Having the MENTALITY of "back in the day" may be a bit more a stretch for some, but I suppose we'll see.

The mentality's there for a lot of us. The only reason I can see Vox and Nagafen as likely to be taken down is because even before Kunark, paladins got a shiny, flaming sword. Guess who they had to kill for that quest. =P

Hey, at least if you drop the dragon, yo get your piece, i played EQ for 6 years and to date, my SK still need the ashenbone from hate. By the time they change the drop rate on it, no one went there.
Man i cant wait till release, hate is by far the worst but my best ever zone.

My husband ran dragon raids - and in 27 raids he never got the book. Not once. Ever. It was a serious ouch, so no it didn't always happen in classic, so yes there will be a LOT of pallies wanting to take those down, and they're going to need all the help they can get, especially because the classic drops were a LOT less kind.

Did the book drops get upped in Kunark or something? I'll admit, the first time I was in raids was after Kunark came out, and Naggy seemed to always drop the book at that point.

I've never even done Vox. :/ I've seen her..and been eaten by her. Naggy was pretty difficult and Phinny is just awesome lore wise. I hope we down em all but, I'm looking forward to the simpler things like. Orc Hill and running from Freeport to Qeynos.

Dalkice - yes, they were upped, but not upped till they dropped every time till later. The Naggy book was easy, the Vox book was much harder. Spouse was appalled when he found out not only the book drops each time, but there was a transporter installed which put you right into the lairs; no more pull and clear - in other words, no more strategy.
His lot of regulars were so good, they killed Naggy with an 18 man team...in their ice resist gear from killing Vox earlier. People deleveled to attend his raids, mostly I think because they were a laugh and most of us weren't doing it for loot, just for fun. That's the only reason I ever attended raids, and I went along at ridiculously low levels and somehow still survived.

I guess I was just lucky then, to see the book so often on Naggy, but like I said, I think I did maybe one Vox raid, didn't see the book on her, and all my raiding was between Kunark and the launch of Luclin (when I quit), so I had the benefit of upped drop rates. Odd. But yea, I agree, the raids aren't just about loot.
